How to get the URL of a tweet

// 11 November 2009 // 2 Comments » // Uncategorized

Yesterday I was looking for a way, to get the URL of one of my tweets. Unfortunately I have not used an URL to reference a tweet so far. So I made a tweet and asked my followers for help, but without any replys.

Hence, after I found out how to reference a tweet by an URL, I will describe here how easy it is. Maybe it will help you :) .

The easiest way: (suggested by Jörg Marx – marx-blog.de)

Just click on the time or date of a tweet and you will get the URL of your selected tweet. :) Quiet simple isn’t it :) ? Thanks a lot Jörg!

Retweet the URL directly with TweetDeck: My Twitter clients is TweetDeck v0.31.2, but I think most Twitter clients will handle it in a similar way. All you have to do is, go to the “other actions” button of a tweet, select “Tweet” and then use the “Reference to” option. TweetDeck will then copy the shortened URL to our “Update frame” and by clicking on this Link you get the “long” version of the URL.

I you now an other way to get the URL of a tweet using Twitter webinterface or another client please feel free to leave a comment here and I will update my post with your name as a reference.

New fee for tourists

What’s wrong with the USA? Tourists should pay $10 to visit a country? What’s next? Do I have to pay $2 dollars a day to use the pavements? The idea behind this is that US taxpayers should no longer pay for promoting tourism. So the fee goes to a found used to pay this. In my eyes this is completely stupid. I mean all visitors in the USA pay a lot, for food, for hotels or what ever. Each tourist helps to save jobs in the US and all people in these jobs pay taxes. For me another question is, what the definition of a “tourist” is. If I have to visit the USA 5 times a year, maybe because of conferences or something for my job, do I have to pay $50 a year for that nonsense?
